Matthew Beatman is a shareholder at Zeisler & Zeisler. For over 20 years, Matthew has acted as lead counsel to individual and corporate debtors, creditors committees, trustees, secured and unsecured creditors, investors, lessors, acquirers of assets, and financial institutions in complex workout, restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy matters. He has extensive experience in litigating commercial matters and has been appointed a Receiver in several cases: American Crushing & Recycling, LLC, the company involved in the tragic Avon Mountain crash in 2005, where Matthew served as Receiver at the request of the Attorney General for the State of Connecticut; FTC and the State of Connecticut v. LeanSpa, LLC, et al, pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, where he presently serves as Receiver at the request of the FTC and State of Connecticut; and Boston Avenue Properties Partnership. Matthew is frequently invited to be a speaker and panelist for various professional groups and is actively involved in various professional and community organizations.  He is a past Chairman of the Connecticut Bar Association's Section on Commercial Law and Bankruptcy, having previously served as its Treasurer and Vice Chairman. He also is a long standing member of that Section's Executive Committee.  Matthew is also a member of the Connecticut Bar Association's Law Section's Executive Committee.

Matthew has been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers (Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights: 2010 - 2018; Litigation - Bankruptcy: 2011, 2015 - 2018; Business Litigation: 2014) and Connecticut Super Lawyers for several consecutive years.  He was named “Stamford Best Lawyers Litigation - Bankruptcy Lawyer of the Year” for 2015 and 2017.  He has also been selected for membership into the Fairfield County Chapter of the American Inns of Court, a prestigious organization of lawyers and judges whose mission is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility, and legal skills.
